ISO standard provides symbols + abbreviations for plasticizers

19 January 2017

Recently NEN-EN-ISO 1043-3:2016 was published. This standard provides uniform symbols for components of terms relating to plasticizers to form abbreviated terms. It includes, in general, only those abbreviated terms that have come into established use. The purpose of this standard is to prevent the occurrence of more than one abbreviated term for a given plasticizer.
The list comprises the abbreviated term, the commonly used name or names and the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) equivalent and the Chemical Abstracts Service Registry Number (CAS-RN) where these are available (World Packaging Standardisation Newsletter, January 2017).
